Hermès launches Arceau watch embarking on a journey through the stars

by

Born in 1978, the Arceau watch designed by Henri d’Origny combines understated elegance and creativity in a round stirrup-shaped case, paying homage to Hermès’ equestrian roots. Its stainless steel case features asymmetrical lugs and a diamond-set crown, with 70 diamonds set on the bezel using invisible setting technique, highlighting the diamonds’ multi-faceted sparkle. The celestial dial framed by the diamond-set case captures everyone’s gaze and directs their thoughts to the starry night sky. In the play of light and shadow, the natural texture of mother-of-pearl, under the blue lacquer, reveals the dial’s intricate uniqueness and three-dimensional visual effect.

The moon rises in a rainbow of light, while a constellation of 7 diamonds illuminates the darkness around. The slender willow-shaped hands sweep across this starry universe, powered by the Hermès H1837 self-winding movement for the hours, minutes, and moon phase between 10 and 11 o’clock. Under the sapphire crystal caseback, intricate decorations of pearl, snail, and satin-brushed finishes are revealed, along with alternating light and dark H-shaped motifs on the bridges and oscillating weight. This watch, with captivating deep space colors, is paired with a sapphire blue alligator leather strap meticulously crafted according to the brand’s expertise in saddlery and leather craftsmanship.
