Every Lunar New Year, various brands will launch festive collections based on the zodiac animal of the year. To welcome the Year of the Rabbit, esteemed luxury watch brands such as Chopard, Harry Winston, Vacheron Constantin, Piaget, and others have crafted limited edition zodiac watches with exquisite watchmaking craftsmanship, making them highly collectible.
Piaget
Piaget pays tribute to this Eastern cultural festival with a limited edition Altiplano watch, presenting a unique timepiece for each year’s zodiac animal using the grand feu cloisonné enamel technique. The dial is adorned with two glowing rabbits, symbolizing hope and longevity, paired with a 38mm diameter 18K white gold case set with 78 brilliant-cut diamonds.
Harry Winston
Harry Winston drew inspiration from the legend of the Jade Rabbit in Chinese culture to create the Premier Rabbit Year watch. The dial depicts the moment when the Jade Rabbit gathers wildflowers to prepare the elixir of immortality, with the rabbit’s silhouette outlined in 18K rose gold and iconic Harry Winston diamonds adorning its eyes, tail, and bow. The dial is hand-sprinkled with a large amount of 22K gold powder, making each dial unique. To echo the brand’s iconic watch design elements, a emerald-cut diamond is set at noon, and the time indication is placed eccentrically on the diamond flower ring.
Vacheron Constantin
The rabbit year watch from Vacheron Constantin has become a highlight in the Vacheron Constantin Métiers d’Art The Legend of the Chinese Zodiac series. The hand-carved branch and leaf decorative pattern on the gold dial is inspired by traditional Chinese floral patterns. It is designed with a semi-inlaid technique, carefully combining different relief patterns to create a rich sense of depth. The dial adopts a time display without hands, with four display windows showing the hour, minute, week, and date respectively. The first two displays are sliding, while the last two are jumping, which is an original design by the brand. The two new models in platinum or pink gold are limited to 9 pieces each.
Chopard
Chopard presents two rabbit year watches to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit. The L.U.C XP Rabbit Year Maki-e watch cleverly combines gold craftsmanship with lacquer art, integrating exquisite mechanical craftsmanship and superb handcraftsmanship. The 39.5mm diameter 18K rose gold case features a delicate and agile jade rabbit under a bright moon on the dial, showcasing the traditional Chinese myth of the “jade rabbit” representing the moon. The Maki-e dial, incorporating gold powder and mother-of-pearl particles, is created by Japanese master craftsmen using ancient Maki-e techniques with a history of hundreds of years. It is equipped with the L.U.C 96.17-L self-winding movement, with a power reserve of up to 65 hours.
TAG HEUER
TAG HEUER Limited Edition Rabbit Year Chronograph Watch, themed around the lunar “Year of the Rabbit,” represents fortune, joy, passion, and bravery with red accents throughout the design. The limited edition watch is based on the 44mm TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph, featuring an elegant stainless steel case and a deep black ceramic fixed tachymeter bezel, echoing the origins of this series with racing sports. The custom-designed dial is adorned with lines representing the soft fur of a rabbit. The back of the watch is specially designed for the watch owner’s exclusive enjoyment. In the middle of the sapphire crystal glass, there is a printed pattern of a red rabbit, surrounded by the engravings “One of 500” and “Limited Edition,” highlighting the limited and rare nature of the watch.
