The tragic legend of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl has created the romantic Qixi Festival. To celebrate the arrival of this traditional holiday, Harry Winston has launched the Premier series Sweet Stars 36mm automatic watch, with a pink mother-of-pearl dial paired with a pink strap, surrounded by a diamond bezel, recreating the legend of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl.
The name of Sweet Stars is full of romantic vibes, and the dial design also closely follows this theme, using glossy and agile mother-of-pearl and precious gemstones. Above the dial are the off-center hour and minute hands, and at the 6 o’clock position, there are two overlapping red and white stars in a small disc, each representing the Weaver Girl and the Cowherd. These two stars replace the function of the second hand, with the red star stationary and the white star rotating once every 60 seconds, symbolizing the Cowherd revolving around the Weaver Girl forever.
The two iridescent mother-of-pearl stripes on the dial represent the Milky Way Magpie Bridge, with round brilliant-cut diamonds adorning the bridge representing the magpies. There are also pink mother-of-pearl clouds on the side, together creating a romantic Qixi night sky scene. The watch is limited to 7 pieces worldwide, echoing the special festival on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month.
