Have you ever thought that energetic electronic music could also become a design element of fashionable watches? CHANEL ‘s latest release, the Electro limited edition watch series, draws inspiration from the world of electronic music, giving CHANEL’s classic watch models J12, Boy·Friend, Code Coco, and Première a more dazzling new look.
“Electronic music” emerged in the 1990s and has since transcended the realm of music to become a mature art genre and original aesthetic culture. CHANEL’s Creative Studio Director of Watches, Arnaud Chastaingt, took a set of performance tracks as a concept to interpret several classic CHANEL watches with the visual elements of electronic music.
A series of CHANEL Electro watches present the powerful force of electronic music through black, white, and colorful tones. While creating contrast, the two color groups complement each other. The colorful tones in the watch illuminate the white, while the deep black makes the colorful parts stand out.
The CHANEL Première Electro watch is reinterpreted with black stainless steel material, paired with a colorful leather interwoven bracelet, and equipped with a high-precision quartz movement.
Since its debut, the CHANEL J12 watch has undergone several versions, this time using black scratch-resistant precision ceramic and stainless steel materials, embellished with colorful rainbow numerals to add a finishing touch, echoing the passion and vitality of electronic music. The J12 Electro watch brings two versions, one with a 38mm size equipped with the Caliber 12.1 movement, and the other with a 33mm size paired with a high-precision quartz movement.
The CHANEL Boy·Friend Electro watch is set with 142 bright-cut diamonds in stainless steel, with a dial decorated with a robot motif, paired with a fluorescent pink diamond-quilted calfskin strap, interpreting the charm of electronic music.
As for the CHANEL Code Coco Electro watch, in addition to being equipped with a high-precision quartz movement, the fluorescent pink diamond pattern and black trimmed leather strap are definitely the most eye-catching design highlights of the watch, while the black stainless steel material is also set with a princess-cut diamond, adding a touch of sparkle.
