Cartier Trinity celebrates its centennial history! The themed exhibition kicks off in Shanghai, with brand ambassador Jackson Wang performing to celebrate.

The Cartier Trinity ring was introduced in 1924, and this iconic design has always symbolized the most cherished values and emotions of Cartier.

To pay tribute to Trinity’s century-old history, convey its diverse values and interconnected concept, and allow everyone to have a deeper understanding of the style evolution of this classic design, Cartier specially held the Trinity 100 theme exhibition, with Shanghai as the first stop globally. Creative guests from different fields around the world were invited to gather their works inspired by Trinity in the “IMAGINE INFINITE CIRCLES” space for presentation together.

Cartier brand ambassador Jackson Wang performs passionately

“A Century of Classics, Timeless Style” The Cartier Trinity 100 theme exhibition recently kicked off at the West Bund Art Center in Shanghai. On the opening day, a grand party was held, with Cartier brand ambassadors Jackson Wang, Song Jia, Li Xian, Bai Jingting, Su Yiming, Zhang Jingyi, as well as actors Qi Xi and Zhang Youhao in attendance, showcasing the diverse charm of the Trinity series with unique personalities.

On the night of the party, the performance segment was creatively planned by Jackson Wang, inviting musician Xu Ruqiao, dance group Kinjaz, and choreographer Madison Olandt to collaborate, presenting his insights into Trinity in a stage format. In addition, guest singer and music producer JJ Lin also joined passionately, connecting diverse concepts through music, creating a climax for the evening!

It all starts with the magical number “three”

Trinity’s story begins with the magical power of the number “three”, with three interwoven rings made of yellow gold, rose gold, and white gold, embodying design potential while interpreting universal aesthetics through their own changes, carrying expressions of love in all forms. At the same time, it evokes the three brothers Louis Cartier, Pierre Cartier, and Jacques Cartier, as well as the three historically significant “temples” in Paris, London, and New York. The deep connection between them also magically echoes the harmonious structure of the three rings: overlapping and interlocking with no absolute hierarchy or sequence.

Bringing together guest creations from different art fields

The Trinity 100 theme exhibition “Infinite Imagination, Interconnected” is curated by French curator, cultural promoter, and institution leader Jérôme Sans. The art pieces displayed in the space span different artistic fields and geographical regions. Numerous creative guests include Cartier brand ambassador, singer-songwriter Jackson Wang, director Peter Chan, musician Zhang Yadong, photographer and artist Gao Yuan, contemporary artist Adrian Cheng, artist Liao Yijun, installation artist Juju Wang, artists Li Weiyi and Zhu Jingyi, French director Bruno Aveillan, French designer Yorgo Tloupas, British actress Emma Corrin, Japanese designer Chito Abe, Korean artist Cho Gi Seok, and designer Kim Jong Jai. Their works converge here to form one cohesive story.

First step into the timeless style space, Trinity’s century-old style story unfolds slowly. 100 years ago, the birth of the Trinity ring broke through the existing jewelry design concepts, creating a brand new artistic style. As time passes, Trinity continues to innovate, presenting diverse changes, and the trinity design has become an aesthetic element of Cartier, integrating into daily life in various forms, appearing on lighters, writing tools, and decorative objects.

The non-linear, multi-scale exhibition design in the exhibition reminds one of the endless rotation of a ring. The three-part maze structure allows viewers to explore from any position, experiencing the insights into life presented by each set of works.

Drawing inspiration from the “cabinet of curiosities” of the Renaissance period, the exhibition presents a marvelous and precious microcosm, like watching a multimedia display where numerous scenes unfold from the same perspective, allowing a comprehensive view of life moments recorded by different creative guests, past and present. Each individual room presents a unique immersive narrative through sound, images, and other means, sparking resonance with the hundred-year history of Trinity for the audience.

Hong Kong landscape painter Wong Chun Hei’s artwork “LOOK UP TO THE RING IN THE SKY” created for the Trinity series is also exhibited in this themed exhibition.

As the finale of the exhibition, the Trinity 100 main visual dynamically intertwines red and white three rings, presented in the form of a large three-dimensional installation. When observed from different angles, the three rings transform in countless ways yet remain interconnected. Just like the diverse relationships between people represented by Trinity: interconnected, diverse in form, and precious.

The Cartier Trinity 100 theme exhibition is open to the public from now until July 28th, whether you are in Shanghai or planning to visit, you may want to go to the exhibition to appreciate the timeless style of Trinity’s classic design. After the Trinity 100 theme exhibition debuts in Shanghai, it will visit Singapore, Tokyo, Japan, and finally hold a grand closing ceremony in the United States.
