After a two-year absence, the Gem Dior collection has launched new styles this year. Designed by the artistic director of jewelry, Victoire de Castellane, the Gem Dior, Gemmes Dior, and J’aime Dior trio compose a powerful declaration of love.
Gem Dior’s new collection combines abstract compositions with elements of nature and high fashion. The designs are inspired by the 2019 Gem Dior high jewelry collection, featuring geometric forms reminiscent of geological rock layers and uncut gemstones. The intricate details pay homage to Christian Dior’s couture aesthetic, with the rectangular shapes of the rings and bracelets resembling fabric samples on the walls of Dior’s studio. The collection is crafted using platinum, rose gold, yellow gold, semi-set diamonds, and fully set diamonds, showcasing the textures of silk, wool, and exquisite embroidery. The new pieces are composed of different elements with unique textures, creating a rich layering and contrasting effect.
In addition to the latest rings and bracelets, the Gem Dior collection has seamlessly integrated jewelry and watchmaking since its debut. This year, two new watch models have been added to the collection, embodying the essence of design as Victoire de Castellane puts it, “precious bracelets that display time.” The asymmetrical dial design emphasizes the contrast of materials, colors, and densities, combining turquoise, gold, and stainless steel, as well as lapis lazuli with decorative gemstones, perfectly echoing the aesthetics of the entire jewelry collection.
