Renowned singer Chen Lei, who has been in the industry for 14 years, recently held her solo concert. Hong Kong designer Kit Wan @ Kit Wan Studios specially used Swarovski crystals to design an exclusive outfit for Chen Lei’s first solo concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum, “Nian,” telling a story through clothing.
The opening look references the concept of wedding dresses, using French-positioned embroidered lace patchwork as the main fabric, embellished with over 3000 Swarovski crystal elements specially imported from Austria to Hong Kong. It physically presents an abstract crystal chandelier scattered on the ground, injecting withered romance into a silent scene. In order to give the overall look more depth, Chen Lei also wears Swarovski jewelry to present a three-dimensional sense, injecting a moving brilliance.
The concert has just begun, with Chen Lei transforming into a lonely figure, draped in a veil, playing and singing alone, carrying all desires and troubles, being born from despair. With the sound of a gunshot, all “thoughts” are opened with the first drop of blood, setting the stage for the entire story. Kit Wan specially brought surprises and creativity to the stage with Swarovski crystals, with the team spending over 350 hours handcrafting the opening outfit for Chen Lei, costing up to HK$300,000, hoping to bring the audience a unique concert experience, creating visual effects with gorgeous clothing and perfect auditory enjoyment.
