Have you ever thought that fragrance can also be a romantic thing? Hermes’ latest perfume, L’ombre des Merveilles (Shadow of Wonders), is designed with light and dark as the concept, using scent and packaging to bring you the romantic scene under the starry sky.
The new fragrance L’ombre des Merveilles is based on Eau Des Merveilles, this time taking “dancing between light and dark” as the design inspiration. Perfumer Christine Nagel uses citrus freshness and incense to represent the bright side, while the scent of lingling beans and woody black tea symbolize the dark colors. Finally, a hint of gentle red tea fragrance highlights the bright feeling of the other ingredients.
The bottle’s design, inspired by Serge Mansau, features a rounded shape that cannot be overturned, with one side flat and the other curved, like a magnifying glass for the stars. When exposed to sunlight, it creates a contrast of light and shadow, and the iconic Hermès saddle nail is also present on the bottle cap, showing attention to detail.
From deep blue gradient to lemon yellow, it looks like the scene when the sun penetrates the night at dawn, I have to say this perfume is so poetic!
