如果说到有哪套经典卡通片陪着这一代人成长，来自于美国的《芝麻街》肯定在每个人心里占一席位。而对艺术家 Fanny Brodar 而言，这些儿时娱乐更是承载着她童年时一些喜与忧的时光！近期，Nothing At All 带来艺术家首个香港个展「It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood」，展出一共 15 幅围绕「爱」的画作。
与其他艺术家不同，Fanny Brodar在40多岁时才正式开始她的艺术家生涯。在疫情爆发的初期，艺术家对绘画产生兴趣，创作的过程让她摆脱消极的情绪，也使她得以追寻一直想成为的“自己”。她表示：“那是我生命中最黑暗的时期，也是最美丽的时期。”其中，著名艺术家Rose Wylie充满童趣和卡通人物的作品，启发到她创作出色彩缤纷、充满喜悦氛围的画作。
The artist draws inspiration from the 70s’ “Sesame Street” and the 90s’ “Three Amigos”, leading the audience into her fictional magical world through these classic cartoon characters. She loves to create in a relaxed illustration style using oil pastels and acrylic paints, releasing the darkest emotions in life through painting and transforming them into the brightest works.

These animations are the carriers of the artist’s emotions, recording one by one the traumas she experienced in her childhood and the inner emotions she still holds as an adult. Years later, what remains deeply ingrained in her mind are not the details of those TV programs or her childhood experiences, but the feelings and images that accompany those fragmented memories that seem almost real.
