M+ Cinema Since its opening in June this year, it has brought many classic film restorations such as “Days of Being Wild” and “Rouge”, as well as different types of art films and documentaries to local audiences, successfully making a strong start for the cinema. Recently, the cinema has announced a preview of its 2022 autumn screening program, continuing to bring more international and diverse exciting visual works, covering categories such as art films, restored classics, documentaries, and artist films, with a richness that has many film fans eagerly anticipating!
“Reconsider Museum”
To mark the first anniversary of M+, the special program “Rethinking Museums” and the opening exhibition “Dreams of the Museum” in the M+ Pavilion respond to each other from a distance, focusing on international artists and filmmakers whose works appreciate and critique the constantly evolving cultural production site of museums. The selected works in this screening clarify the process of exhibition production and interpretation, examine how exhibitions in the gallery present and fictionalize history, and how artists draw inspiration from museums.
“Dreams of Fire and Humanity: The Retrospective Exhibition of Clea Dani” and “Clea Dani: Friends and Inspirations”
“Chimera in the Human World: The Claire Denis Retrospective” is the first author-director screening series at the M+ Theater. “Chimera in the Human World” delves into the innovative works of internationally renowned director Claire Denis, paying tribute to her forty-year film career, during which she intricately portrays the subtleties of human relationships and presents the influence of colonialism.
