Asian music king Jay Chou is well-known for his love of collecting art. In addition to privately collecting various contemporary artworks, he was invited to be the first Asian curator at Sotheby’s two years ago, where he brought the celebrity auction “CONTEMPORARY CURATED” and received enthusiastic praise. With one foot in the art world, Jay continues to collaborate with international auction houses this year, but this time it is with another auction giant – Christie’s!
Christie’s Hong Kong recently announced the highly anticipated “Millennial Evening Auction” to be held this autumn, in collaboration with the global Chinese pop music king, Jay Chou. This themed auction, curated and planned by Jay Chou and Christie’s, will focus on a series of emerging and exceptionally talented avant-garde artists and showcase their extraordinary masterpieces created after the turn of the millennium. The content is definitely worth looking forward to.
Jay Chou said, “I am honored to collaborate with Christie’s. The power of these new generation artists has the potential to become great artists in the future. In the music industry, I was once a newcomer too. I hope this exhibition and auction can encourage them to continue on their creative journey and shine.
