Christie’s Hong Kong 2021 Autumn Auction is in full swing at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, with the “20th and 21st Century Art” auction featuring a series of masterpieces with a total estimated value of over HK$1.3 billion. On the first day of the preview, we invited art and culture scholar Miha to take a walk around the venue with us, bringing you a simple yet exciting guided tour. For this shoot, we also invited fashion stylist Faye Tsui as a guest to introduce some selected auction items for this season in a relaxed and lively manner.

Want to know why Liu Ye likes to paint Miffy? How did Chagall’s surreal style form? How to understand one of Basquiat’s peak works during his artistic career, “Donut Revenge”? Don’t miss this introduction!

In addition to the auction items, in fact, in this pre-exhibition, Christie’s also brought a very exciting exhibition, which is “Françoise Gilot: A Hundred Years of Glamour”. Françoise Gilot is best known as the “former lover of Picasso”, their 10-year relationship became an important experience in Gilot’s life, inspiring and nurturing each other with the talented Picasso, becoming nourishment for her art.

Aside from Picasso, Matisse also had a significant influence on Gilot, as can be seen in her artwork from the 1970s in terms of line, color, and style. This year, as Gilot celebrates her 100th birthday, Christie’s collaborates with Home Art to bring the “Françoise Gilot: A Century of Elegance” exhibition to Hong Kong audiences from November 26 to December 1, allowing everyone to personally appreciate the works of this artist spanning from the 1940s to the 2010s. We continue to invite art and culture scholar Miha to introduce to us the fascinating stories behind this exhibition.

For friends interested in art, why not visit the 3D exhibition hall at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center before December 1st to appreciate a series of art masterpieces. The exhibition is free to enter.
