Since December, you have been constantly going out, taking photos of Christmas decorations in major shopping malls and seaside lights. Do you want to find some new ideas for check-ins? Recently, in Mong Kok, T.O.P This is Our Place teamed up with New York visual artists Wade and Leta to bring the “From New York to Hong Kong” large-scale Christmas installation, bringing the colorful New York to Hong Kong!
Wade and Leta, composed of the couple Wade Jeffree and Leta Sobierajski, created multiple artfully designed scenes at T.O.P using 3D design and AR augmented reality technology. Among them, the “Visual Impact Amusement Park” located in the sky garden features walls of different heights and lines, as well as various shaped windows carved above them, abstractly creating the complex street scenes of New York. When visiting, you can use your phone camera to experience this abstract art-filled Christmas decoration sky garden with AR technology!
Another 3-meter-wide “New York Landmark Relief Wall” presents an illusion effect, using the artist’s most adept “multidisciplinary design” to integrate visual elements into photography, fashion, and graphic design, subverting lines, geometry, and colors, abstracting iconic New York buildings such as the World Trade Center and the Empire State Building, and urban landscapes. In terms of color, in addition to the classic Christmas red and green, it also blends different shades of blue to bring out the unique coldness of the big city in winter.
T.O.P’s atrium has been transformed into “Xmas Art-rium,” with multiple nearly 4-meter-tall inflatable Christmas decorations hanging in the air, paired with explosive color graphics throughout the venue, showcasing the Christmas scene of New York City!
To get a glimpse of Wade and Leta’s past series of creative works, you can visit the “Visual Arts Gallery” on the 4th floor of T.O.P, and the most eye-catching one must be the “Gucci Bloom” collaborated with Gucci!
It is worth mentioning that T.O.P also invited local art photographer Tsz to share some photo-taking tips! Tsz uses light and different filters such as a star-shaped lens and crystal ball to present Wade and Leta’s abstract works. You can borrow these photo-taking tools at T.O.P’s customer service desk to experience the NYC street art style!
