During the Christmas season, there are plenty of great movies to enjoy at the theater during the holidays. Here are some of the highly anticipated blockbusters newly released in December, including: “The French Dispatch”, “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, “The Matrix Resurrections”, “Spencer”, “West Side Story”, and “The King’s Man”!
“The French Dispatch”
Release Date: December 2, 2021
The film is based on the authoritative magazine “The New Yorker”, telling the story of a fictional French small town in the last century, where an American media person founded the “Weekly of All Things French” before its closure, choosing to publish the final issue and selecting articles from three contributors, weaving them into a magnificent love letter to writers.
This includes an article “The Concrete Masterpiece” which discusses the interest and controversy sparked by an artist and his paintings; another story “Revisions To A Manifesto” about students and revolutionary activists; and finally a piece by food critic Lubawi that focuses on deconstructing Asian cuisine by chefs, titled “The Private Dining Room – of the Police Commissioner”.

“The Matrix Resurrections”

The film is back with original series director Lana Wachowski at the helm, and is powerfully returning with Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss. Resurrections is the fourth film in the iconic sci-fi series, released 18 years after the sequels The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, and 22 years after the release of The Matrix.
The story takes place 20 years after the revolution, where Neo is discovered living a seemingly ordinary life in San Francisco, just like Thomas A. Anderson, his therapist there prescribed him the blue pill. They both do not know each other. However, Morpheus later gave him the red pill, allowing him to rediscover the world of the Matrix.
“Spencer”

This biographical film about Princess Diana is starring Kristen Stewart and has been generating buzz since filming began! Set in the winter of 1991, Princess Diana’s marriage to Prince Charles is already on the rocks, with rumors of extramarital affairs and divorce swirling around. Despite this, members of the royal family still gather at Sandringham Estate for Christmas as tradition dictates. However, amidst the seemingly festive atmosphere, Princess Diana cannot hide her loneliness and sorrow, ultimately deciding to stay true to her heart and make a decision that will change her destiny.
The film, directed by award-winning Chilean director Pablo Larraín at the Cannes Film Festival, received a nomination for the Best Film Golden Lion Award at the 78th Venice Film Festival. “West Side Story” (West Side Story)

The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn and is the latest prequel to the blockbuster action series. Set against the backdrop of World War I, it tells the story of a historical tyrant and criminal mastermind secretly joining forces to plot a bloody war capable of wiping out millions of people. In order to stop this earth-shattering conspiracy, a team of “Royal Agents” is formed.
