#Christmas 2021: Must-visit! 6 major waterfront promenades create a festive themed light display for a Christmas celebration at Victoria Harbour!

Although major shopping malls have exquisite Christmas decorations, there is indeed a different atmosphere to see the lights by the sea during the holiday season! In addition to admiring the sparkling lights against the backdrop of the beautiful Victoria Harbour at Tsim Sha Tsui seaside, West Kowloon Cultural District, the Victoria Harbour Christmas Showcase, starting from Fortress Hill to Kennedy Town, has also officially lit up recently, allowing everyone to enjoy 6 different themed Christmas waterfront promenades!

The Development Bureau and the Harbourfront Commission have chosen “One Christmas, One Victoria Harbour” as this year’s theme, combining six waterfront promenades, including the “East Point Park Theme Area” in Fortress Hill, “HarbourChill Waterfront Leisure Station” in Wan Chai, “Water Sports and Recreation Theme Area” in Wan Chai, Central and Admiralty Promenade in Admiralty, Western District Promenade in Pok Fu Lam Wan, and Tsuen Wan Promenade, creating a colorful Christmas night scene.

The 6 Christmas waterfront promenades each have their own unique features, with Wan Chai’s “HarbourChill Waterfront Leisure Station” creating a Christmas forest with over 30 different-sized Christmas trees, including an 8-meter-high giant Christmas tree themed after a circus. Miniature Christmas trees from the other 5 Christmas waterfront promenades will also be gathered in the HarbourChill Christmas forest.

HarbourChill will also hold a limited-time “Victoria Harbour Christmas Village Carnival”, featuring over 40 market stalls selling toys, household items, clothing, pet supplies, and dining options. There will also be a picnic experience, Christmas tent photo spots, live music performances, various Christmas-themed workshops, and booth games, allowing everyone to feel like they are in a European winter Christmas village!

As for the other 5 waterfront promenades, you can find different themes, large Christmas trees ranging from 5 to 6 meters high. For example, in the “East Point Park Theme Area” in Fortress Hill, a spiral Christmas tree is created with over 40,000 recycled plastic bottle caps, not only environmentally friendly but also echoing the “Victoria Harbour” word carving installation in the area; while in the “Water Sports and Recreation Theme Area” in Wan Chai, a cartoon Christmas tree created in collaboration with local illustrator Chocolate Rain and a series of venue decorations are on display, designed to be full of childlike fun.

In addition, there are classic red and green bobo Christmas trees at the Golden Bauhinia Square and Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, as well as colorful candy Christmas trees at the Western District Promenade. They are equally exquisite and dazzling! Worth mentioning is also the Tsuen Wan Promenade, where cartoon character “Doraemon” transforms into Christmas trees, Christmas cars, and rotating decorations, making it a must-visit spot this Christmas!
