Netflix’s Korean drama “The Queen of Tears” may have come to an end recently, but it is still highly discussed! In addition to the romantic storyline of Baek Hyun-yoo (played by Kim Soo-hyun) and Hong Hae-in (played by Kim Ji-won), the beautiful scenes in the drama have also become a focus, many of which are must-visit travel destinations! //Sanssouci Palace in the northern suburbs of Potsdam, Germany: A scene of reunion for two people//

One of the most unforgettable classic scenes must be when Bai Xianyou flew to Germany alone to find Hong Hairen, the two reunited and kissed passionately at “Sanssouci Palace”, which is also their honeymoon destination! This picturesque location, full of Rococo architectural style, is located in the northern suburbs of Potsdam, Germany, known as the Prussian Versailles, designed according to the sketches of King Frederick II of Prussia from 1745 to 1747.

The Sanssouci Palace was extended by Frederick William IV from 1840 to 1842, and in 1990, it was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Covering approximately 290 hectares and about 100 meters long, the palace features a domed roof, intricately carved walls, geometric courtyards, gardens, and the New Palace. The vast area is renowned for its beautiful landscaping.

Berlin Cathedral: A Place of Prayer for Hong Hai-ren by Bai Xianyou

Filmed in Germany as well! The scene of Berlin Cathedral in the drama comes from a moment where Baek Hyun-woo prays for Hong Hae-in, and this church, located on the banks of the Spree River, was built between 1895 and 1905 and was damaged during World War II.

The Berlin Cathedral has 4 levels, with a magnificent exterior and equally gorgeous interior decoration, combining Baroque and Renaissance styles, featuring a grand green dome, murals, reliefs, bronze statues, all splendid and sacred. Its basement houses the tombs of the Hohenzollern dynasty, where you can see the coffins of royal family members, while climbing to the top offers a view of the beautiful scenery of the Berlin city center.

//Sanhuang Church: Love Locks on the Riverside Iron Bridge//

The Three Kings Church in Frankfurt, Germany (Dreikönigskirche) is also a filming location for “The Queen of Tears,” located on the south bank of the Main River. Near the church is the Frankfurt Iron Bridge, where Baek Hyun-woo and Hong Hae-in hung love locks in the drama.

This church was built in the early 15th century in a new Gothic style and is a Lutheran church. It was destroyed during World War II and was rebuilt in the late 1980s. Its bell tower is over 87 meters high and is one of the famous landmarks in the area.

// Aqua Planet in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea: A Romantic Proposal Destination //

Located in the mountains of Gyeonggi-do, Aqua Planet Ocean World is the place where Baek Hyun-yu proposed romantically to Hong Hae-in in “Queen of Tears”! Baek Hyun-yoo and Hong Hae-in’s luxurious mansion is actually based on the Korean Stone Museum. Located in the Dong Street area of northern Seoul, founded by Director Chon Shin-il, it showcases Korean stone artifacts from both domestic and overseas sources, totaling up to 1,200 pieces.
