Whether it’s a couple’s trip or a family vacation with children, Phuket Island in Thailand is definitely a popular destination for many travelers. Here, there are beautiful beaches, abundant natural landscapes, and a variety of entertainment activities. Whether you prefer tranquility and serenity or a lively and vibrant atmosphere, and wish to enjoy a sunny island vacation, the direct flight from Hong Kong to Phuket Island is very convenient, making it extremely popular among tourists.
It was an invitation from Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort for a three-day, two-night stay. If we were to count the busiest and most tourist-filled area in Phuket, it would definitely be Patong. However, Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort is located in Kamala Beach, which is about a 20-30 minute drive from Patong. It is relatively less bustling than Patong, making it suitable for couples or families who prefer a peaceful and leisurely atmosphere. If you are departing from the airport, it will only take about 40 minutes, which is relatively convenient compared to some other resorts that are located in more remote areas. Hyatt Regency Phuket’s location can be considered as a balance between liveliness and tranquility, allowing you to easily access the city center while being able to escape from the hustle and bustle.
Although the hotel is not a newly built resort, the management of Hyatt has always been guaranteed, which is why many guests still choose this hotel after many years of operation. Kamala, Phuket, has traditionally been known as the famous luxury residential area on the island. In recent years, many luxury hotels have opened in this area, gradually becoming an emerging vacation destination. There are also many international five-star brand hotels in this area!

The Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort is located on a steep hillside and features 199 rooms of 7 different types, ranging in size from over 400 square feet to over 1,000 square feet. The top-tier rooms also have private pools or outdoor jacuzzis, with views of Kamala Beach. It is highly rated on many travel websites. The resort’s main feature is its large outdoor infinity pool, and all rooms have a full ocean view. The facilities are comprehensive, and the overall style is modern, minimalist, and luxurious.
The tranquil sense of space and minimalism permeate the entire resort. As soon as you enter the hotel, your gaze is inevitably drawn to the enormous Infinity Pool that occupies the front of the hotel. Several king-size four-poster beds surround the pool, and there are also floating chairs in the pool, offering two equally comfortable options for relaxation!
Hyatt Regency can be described as upscale yet understated. The hotel’s logo at the entrance is not large, and the design of the reception lobby is simple and elegant, with a laid-back Southeast Asian vibe created by the use of marble. The space is semi-open, with a very large seating area and comfortable chairs paired with an outdoor green lawn, making you want to go straight to the pool outside for sunbathing!
During check-in, we were given a refreshing welcome drink, which was very heartwarming! We stayed in the Whirlpool Terrace room, which is located in the middle of the mountain. The distance is not far, but the road is a bit steep. The front desk staff suggested that if we wanted to go to the lobby or Casa Boho bar, we could simply call the front desk and they would send a golf cart to pick us up. Later on, we realized that there was no need to make a reservation in advance. Whenever we stepped out of our room, we would see a golf cart coming back and forth, so we could just hop on.
After entering the room, there is a king-size bed in the room, which can also be requested to add an extra bed if accompanied by children, and the space is more than enough. The bathroom space is ample, with a spacious vertical shower in addition to the bathtub. Overall, it looks very clean and can be used with peace of mind. There are welcome fruits in the room for guests to enjoy, as well as snacks, cup noodles, and drinks that need to be paid for. Opening the glass door of the room, you can see the outdoor balcony space, and the Whirpool Terrace feature room’s hot tub did not disappoint me! Looking out from the balcony at the hot tub and the scenery across is already a beautiful picture. The hot tub has been preheated and has temperature control and purification functions, so you can immediately jump in and enjoy a bath. Checking in here, sipping champagne while watching the sunset and sunrise, can already help you unwind for the whole day!
The resort only has one large swimming pool, which is in the form of an “infinity pool”. Even though it is late October in Phuket, Thailand, the weather is still quite hot and humid, so being able to swim every day is definitely a great pleasure! The swimming pool itself is also a paradise for taking photos, as it has different effects from different angles and at different times. Remember to bring some beautiful summer clothes for the photos.
It is worth noting that although the hotel has a beach and a beautiful coral reef where you can snorkel and see many fish and other marine life, it is not suitable for swimming. However, you can arrange a tour with the hotel. Although the beach is not suitable for swimming, the hotel provides a shuttle service to the famous Kamala Beach every day, which is only a 7-minute drive away, making it very convenient.
In addition, outside the pool is “The Pool House” main restaurant, where you can enjoy breakfast with a wide variety of options, whether it’s Chinese, Western, or Thai cuisine. Eating here for several days won’t feel boring at all. It can be said that it is one of the highlights of the resort, with a truly sincere and abundant breakfast! In addition to breakfast, they also serve all-day dining, including Thai and international cuisine, allowing you to dine indoors or outdoors as you prefer. Next to the restaurant is a beautiful The Pool Bar, equipped with oversized sofas, perfect for enjoying the time in the cool breeze during sunset.
Located in a corner of the hotel, Camp Hyatt is a unique “Kids Club” at Hyatt Regency. It is a place where children can have fun. There are many facilities for children to play, including an outdoor playground. Indoors, there are daily activities such as Thai Dance, Fan Painting, and making Jelly Candles. The highlight is that there are several trained staff members in the Kids Club who can take care of children aged 4 and above. Every time children come here, they are happy and busy. For parents who travel with children, it is a lifesaver. It allows children to have a great time here while parents can relax.
Another unique dining option within the hotel is the “Mizu” teppanyaki restaurant, which follows a Japanese style. It is rare to find teppanyaki in Phuket, and the restaurant has a limited number of seats. The cuisine leans towards Japanese style, and for this meal, we ordered wagyu beef, seafood, and vegetarian dishes. The portions were quite generous! The chef also had a great desire to entertain, constantly interacting with everyone and creating a lively atmosphere. It was definitely a special dining experience. If you want to try Thai-style Japanese cuisine, don’t miss out on this.
If you have a lady companion and it’s Thursday, don’t miss the Ladies Night at the hotel’s Latin restaurant, Casa Boho. Every lady can enjoy a complimentary designated cocktail and snacks.
Casa Boho, a bar and restaurant located at the top of a high cliff at the hotel, immerses you in a bohemian atmosphere. You can enjoy the stunning sunset of Kamala Bay at a fixed time while indulging in Latin American flavors and expertly crafted cocktails to stimulate your taste buds.
Casa Boho offers three unique dining experiences, including a poolside bar with panoramic views of Kamala Bay, a poolside restaurant, and a game room, where guests can fully enjoy the unique bohemian-style environment.
