When traveling to Beijing, the magnificent Great Wall is definitely a must-visit attraction. One of the hotels under the Hyatt’s luxury brand, “Commune by the Great Wall,” has recently opened for business, located in Yanqing District, Beijing. Not only is it just a stone’s throw away from the Great Wall, but it is also surrounded by the natural landscape of Shuiguan Mountain, allowing guests to admire the beauty of architectural art from different styles of villas!
“The Commune by the Great Wall” is a series of private contemporary architectural art pieces designed by 12 Asian architects, which have won numerous awards since its debut in 2002. It is also the first Chinese architectural work invited to participate in the Venice Biennale and awarded the “Architectural Art Promotion Award,” and later in 2005, it was named one of the “Top 10 New Architectural Wonders in China” by the American “Business Week” magazine.
Under the current update and upgrade, the commune at the foot of the Great Wall now has 176 guest rooms and suites distributed among 36 villas. Each villa has a unique design theme, such as a Japanese tea room bamboo house, a forest cabin surrounded by lush plants, and most villas have a viewing terrace for guests to enjoy the different mountain views in all four seasons.
In addition to enjoying the scenery, guests can also relax in one of the 15 spa centers located among the trees, participate in activities such as tai chi and yoga at the hotel fitness center, or take their children to the hotel’s kids’ club for seasonal outdoor activities such as gardening, camping, hiking, and stargazing.
In addition, of course, delicious dishes cannot be missing. The hotel’s Public Kitchen restaurant selects local healthy green ingredients to bring authentic northern Chinese flavors. You can also go to the coffee bar next to the outdoor swimming pool, taste wine under the night sky, admire the stars, and feel the leisurely time.
