Since 1887, the hidden masterpiece “Montmartre Street Scene” by Van Gogh has never been exposed, and it will be publicly displayed for the first time in a hundred years, debuting at the Sotheby’s Paris auction in March.
After being completed in 1887, this work was kept by a family for over a century until the 1920s, and has never been publicly exhibited. In other words, this auction will be the first time the painting has been seen in 134 years.
