At the age of 30, Yu Xiangning was nominated for the Best Actress at the Hong Kong Film Awards this year. Prior to that, she was nominated for the Best Leading Actress at the 60th Golden Horse Awards for her performance in “Under the Sun” last year. She also won the Best Actress award at the 30th Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards, the Hong Kong Directors’ Guild Awards, and the “Best Actress” award at the Hong Kong Netizen Film Critics HIGHLIGHT Awards for her role in the same film. Her acting skills have been widely recognized. In “Under the Sun,” Yu Xiangning plays the journalist Ling Xiaoqi, who leads a team to uncover a sexual assault case involving the director of a disabled nursing home. Debuted in 2011, Yu Xiangning started her career as a model, participating in numerous advertising shoots and appearing in TV dramas in Hong Kong and Taiwan, including “Always and Ever” and “Law dis-Order.” It wasn’t until 2016 that she officially embarked on her acting career, making her debut in the film “Sisterhood” and portraying the experienced character Ling Ling.
