Travel to Paris, France, of course, you must make a pilgrimage to the Louvre, the art palace to admire the classic works of Leonardo da Vinci! But now you don’t have to fly to Paris in person, you can enjoy the precious collections of the Louvre, because the Louvre has unprecedentedly brought da Vinci’s exhibition to the big screen, bringing the movie “Night at the Louvre: Da Vinci’s 500-Year Legend”, art lovers, don’t miss it!

Leonardo da Vinci was a representative figure of the Italian Renaissance period, with talents in painting, architecture, sculpture, music, astronomy, and more. His classic works are numerous, including “Mona Lisa,” “Lady with an Ermine,” “The Last Supper,” “Virgin and Child with St. Anne,” and “St. John.” In 2019, it was the 500th anniversary of da Vinci’s death, so the Louvre held the largest da Vinci exhibition in history, lasting for 4 months and attracting over 1 million visitors, setting a record for the highest number of visitors to a single exhibition since the opening of the Louvre.

This large-scale exhibition is curated by Vincent Delieuvin (Department of Paintings) and Louis Frank (Department of Prints and Drawings), with a preparation time of 10 years. It showcases over 160 works by da Vinci, including classics such as the “Mona Lisa,” “Portrait of Cecilia Gallerani,” “Saint John the Baptist,” and “Vitruvian Man.”

In addition to the Louvre’s own collection, the exhibition also features royal treasures lent by Russia, the Vatican, Italy, and Queen Elizabeth II of England, including the “Vitruvian Man” which is only displayed once every 6 years. This piece was only able to be borrowed from Italy after much negotiation, and after a 10-year “rest,” it is finally being showcased again at the exhibition, making it very precious!

To bring this large-scale exhibition to the big screen, the Louvre mobilized a team of 30 people, spent 4 nights filming with high-definition 5K cameras, and personally guided by two curators, bringing the film “Night at the Louvre: Leonardo da Vinci 500 Years of Legend” as if it were a private tour to give you a close-up view of da Vinci’s artwork! The film will premiere exclusively at Broadway Cinematheque on October 9th, tickets are now on presale, so if you’re interested, be sure to seize the opportunity!
