Girard-Perregaux’s latest Laureato Absolute 8Tech chronograph watch reinterprets classic works with carbon titanium composite materials.

by

Girard-Perregaux reinterpreted the classic Laureato watch, which was first introduced in 1975, four years ago and launched the Laureato Absolute watch series. Since then, this series has been experimenting with various innovative materials, such as metalized blue sapphire crystal, glass carbon, and rubber alloy. The brand’s newly launched Laureato Absolute 8Tech chronograph watch is also made with a carbon titanium composite material through unique innovative craftsmanship.

The new watch adopts groundbreaking 8Tech technology, composed of unidirectional non-woven pre-impregnated carbon fiber, combined with lightweight titanium powder, forming ultra-thin layers of only 0.05 millimeters each; these thin layers are stacked in different directions and then cut into octagonal bezels, making the appearance of each wristwatch unique.

The dial design adopts a “sandwich” structure, with the upper layer treated with sandblasting and gradient gray craftsmanship, echoing the tone of the case and bezel; the lower layer of the dial is made of grade 5 titanium, which is partially visible through the upper window. The three sub-dials are also treated with sandblasting and a date window is set between 4 o’clock and 5 o’clock.
