The Gucci x adidas collaboration series has been officially released, with many unrevealed items becoming the focus again.

In late February this year, Gucci, led by Alessandro Michele, officially returned to Milan Fashion Week, presenting the new 2022 autumn/winter collection for both men and women. Alessandro Michele, who has always been fond of retro elements and rooted in exploring art history, pleasantly surprised everyone by confirming the long-rumored adidas x Gucci collaboration, bringing a range of special designs for the joint collection. After several months, the brand officially released the official lookbook and advertising campaign for this collection, revealing more designs and details of this highly anticipated series.

To perfectly present these masterpieces, Alessandro Michele drew inspiration from the brand’s past product catalogs. The characters strike vivid poses in front of colorful, sporty scenes, captured by photographer Carlijn Jacobs in a series of stylish shots.

Through the adidas x Gucci collaboration series, Alessandro Michele blends the classic styles of both brands, creating a surprising chemical reaction between vintage aesthetics and casual sportswear. The most eye-catching element in the series is undoubtedly adidas’ classic Three Stripes, appearing on clothing and accessories, while also echoing Gucci’s iconic “red and green” Web stripe. Additionally, the representative Trefoil symbol of adidas’ brand history intertwines with Gucci’s GG logo to create lively prints, transforming into Gucci’s monogram pattern displayed on clothing, accessories, footwear, and bags. The cotton T-shirt adorned with the adidas Trefoil features the word “Gucci” below the pattern. With unique 70s-inspired cuts, the collaboration series further highlights the retro style.

To highlight adidas and Gucci’s commitment to sustainability as a common goal, the series features a variety of items made from innovative materials such as polyester fibers, cotton, and artificial silk. In terms of style, the collection focuses on retro sportswear sets, paired with men’s flared pants and bowling shirts, or women’s shorts and joggers, as well as tennis-inspired polo shirts, sleeveless tops, skirts, and knitted jumpsuits; the equestrian-style metal hardware from the Gucci Horsebit 1955 shoulder bag and handbag, previously seen in the Gucci Beloved collection, is integrated with adidas Trefoil elements, as seen in barrel bags and camera bags. In addition to red, yellow, and black leather options, the bags are also available in GG Supreme canvas and colorful vintage prints inspired by the clothing collection.

It is worth mentioning the selection of shoes at the end of February fashion show. The clothing interpreted by a group of models was paired with different exclusive shoe styles, from the classic adidas Gazelle sneakers that have been around since 1996 and are featured in both men’s and women’s collections, to leather high-heeled shoes, GG canvas clogs, and suede Horsebit Loafers. These mixed designs bring a fresh twist to the collection while also echoing adidas’ timeless position as a sports shoe manufacturer. It is worth noting that some of the shoes did not appear at the fashion show, so shoe enthusiasts should not miss out.

The adidas x Gucci collection will be available for purchase starting June 7th at selected Gucci stores, pop-up shops, Gucci.com official website, and the adidas CONFIRMED app. The collection’s unique advertising campaign will also be launched simultaneously. Collectors and fashion enthusiasts, do not miss out.
