Leica has always been committed to the development of precision optical instruments, and Walt Disney has also been involved in animation film production for a hundred years. To talk about the origins of the two, it can be traced back to the birth of animation. Disney Studios began using Leica (then Leitz) cameras and projectors to create complex animation storyboards. To commemorate Disney’s 100th anniversary, the two parties have recently launched a collaborative project, bringing the “Wonderful Hundred Years, Adventures with You” special edition camera.

The design inspiration for the Leica Q2 Special Edition camera comes from the hand-drawn animation model created by Don Towsley, a famous animator from Walt Disney Studios, in 1937. The front of the camera body is adorned with vertical stripes, which is very eye-catching. The top of the viewfinder features a Mickey Mouse pattern, and the upper left corner of the back screen is engraved with the word “Disney,” while the upper right corner is engraved with the limited edition number. In addition, a special edition dust bag with the original pattern and a special edition camera strap are randomly included, making it highly collectible.
