The all-new smart #5 luxury five-seater adventurous SUV made its global debut in Brisbane, Australia recently, marking smart’s official entry into the luxury mid-size SUV market. Designed by the global design team of Mercedes Benz, the smart #5 is based on the design philosophy of “Emotional · Sharp,” injecting elements of innovation, foresight, and fun to create a new design concept of a “contemporary explorer.”
The all-new smart #5 is specially designed to provide outdoor adventurers with a rich array of expedition equipment, including X-shaped roof racks, off-road storage bags, side climbing ladders, and chassis safety armor, making every journey full of surprises. Moreover, this model is the world’s first SUV equipped with the AMD V2000 desktop-class high-performance chip, taking the intelligent control experience to new heights of smoothness.
In terms of design, the all-new smart #5 features a boxy and angular shape with a 2,900mm wheelbase and 4,705mm body length. With a drag coefficient of only 0.27, it comes with frameless doors and hidden door handles, showcasing a minimalist aesthetic. The LED matrix headlights at the front consist of 328 LEDs, designed like a “time-space capsule,” giving a strong sense of technology, while the three-dimensional suspended taillights contain 252 super red LEDs, enhancing driving safety.
Smart #5 pursues the perfect combination of luxury and practicality in the car interior. With Italian Alps oak trim, 256-color ambient lighting, industry-first airbag zero gravity seats, and SPA 8-point massage function, it delivers a first-class sensory experience for the driver. The AMOLED ultra-high-definition screen and AR augmented reality head-up display inside the car make the driving experience even more immersive.
In terms of power, the all-new smart #5 is equipped with an 800V pure electric platform, supporting 4C ultra-fast charging technology, capable of charging up to 70% in 15 minutes, with a maximum range of 740 kilometers. The vehicle also features smart Pilot Assist 3.0 intelligent driving system, further enhancing driving safety and convenience. The new smart #5 can also tackle various terrain challenges, with 8 driving modes and a water fording depth of up to 500 millimeters, giving it strong off-road capabilities.
In terms of audio experience, smart #5 collaborates with Sennheiser to launch a 20 high-quality speaker sound system, equipped with the industry’s first portable HiFi speaker for all scenarios, making every journey feel like a private concert.
The new Smart #5 is scheduled to launch in the Hong Kong and Macau markets in 2025.
