Blackmagic Design recently launched the latest version 2.0 of the Blackmagic Camera for iOS, bringing several innovative features for professional photographers and content creators. This update not only enhances multi-camera control capabilities but also provides a number of practical new features, making the iPhone and iPad Pro more powerful shooting tools.

Multi-device Remote Control and Monitoring

The standout feature of this version of the Blackmagic Camera is its multi-camera control capability. Users can now use one iPhone as a controller to manage multiple iPhones equipped with the Blackmagic Camera. Through a secure connection via wired or WiFi networks, users can monitor all cameras in a multi-screen mode and make adjustments to individual cameras, such as zoom, focus, white balance, frame rate, shutter angle, or lens selection. More importantly, this app also supports synchronized recording across multiple cameras, allowing users to start or stop the recording on several cameras simultaneously. This is a significant breakthrough for projects that require multi-camera collaboration.

Support for the new features of the iPad Pro

This update also brings support for the Apple Silicon-based iPad Pro, allowing users to use the iPad as a camera or controller. When used as a controller, the iPad’s larger display can show footage from up to nine cameras at once, or allow users to view the status of each camera individually, making it easier to manage multiple cameras efficiently.

Supports high frame rate shooting for iPhone 15 Pro

The Blackmagic Camera for iOS 2.0 also introduces 100fps HD recording support for the iPhone 15 Pro, meaning users can capture smoother and more detailed slow-motion videos, further enhancing the quality of their films.

The Convenience of Media Management

This update also introduces the ability to select multiple clips in the media tab, allowing users to copy or delete multiple clips at once. This feature enables users to quickly free up space or copy clips to an external hard drive, streamlining the overall workflow.

The Blackmagic Camera for iOS 2.0 is now available for free download on the App Store, and this update undoubtedly provides photographers and content creators with more powerful tools and a more convenient workflow.
