Technology brand Honor’s foldable screen phone with a thickness of less than 1cm has already broken boundaries, and recently announced a collaboration with Porsche Design to launch a special edition foldable screen phone – Honor Magic V2 RSR, marking an important milestone in the intersection of cutting-edge technology and luxury lifestyle.
The design inspiration for the mobile phone back panel comes from the classic Porsche 911’s streamlined design, fitting the palm grip curve of the user. The streamlined sloping rear window breaks the inherent design image of mobile phone camera modules being either square or round, creating a sloping effect similar to the Porsche rear window. The titanium protective ring around the lens adopts the metal etching process used in limited edition sports cars, incorporating understated luxury into the design through hand-filled ink. Inspired by the filling material – feather fiber on the A-pillar of another Porsche ten-million-dollar sports car, the body of the Honor Magic V2 RSR is made of ultra-light and thin glass fiber, achieving a 5D integrated molding effect, reshaping the unique texture of Porsche. At the same time, the mobile phone is color-tuned by the Porsche Design master in Stuttgart, Germany, bringing the classic Porsche color scheme and the same car-named marmot gray color, maximizing the luxury feel of the phone.
In addition, the phone weighs only 234 grams and has a thickness of only 9.9 millimeters when folded. Influenced by cross-industry craftsmanship aesthetics, Honor uses a wear-resistant material – silicon nitride – to coat the screen through a supercar engine, greatly increasing the screen’s scratch resistance and providing the strongest protection for the phone. In addition to embodying Honor’s people-oriented design philosophy, it also combines functional aesthetics with Porsche Design to bring this groundbreaking foldable screen phone.
