This year marks the 40th anniversary of the birth of Casio G-SHOCK. To commemorate this occasion, the brand has launched the “Adventurer’s Stone” series of commemorative watches. The biggest feature is the specially forged and textured metal bezel, which recreates the rough texture of minerals.
The bezel surface is polished, while the top and sides are treated with hairline and mirror finishes respectively, combined with different color ion plating treatments to showcase the appearance and refractive effects of the relevant minerals. There are a total of 6 models, including GM-2140GEM-2A and GM-S114GEM-1A2, with amethyst and calcite as the respective themes.
GM-2140GEM-2A continues the octagonal dial design of the GM-2100 series, with blue as the main color. It uses blue ion plating to reproduce the unique water blue tone of kunzite. The strap adopts the Garal color style. As for the bezel of GM-S114GEM-1A2, it is treated with purple ion plating, with gold plating on the side at 2 o’clock and 7 o’clock, and added with gray ion plating. The dual-color design highlights the unique purple of spodumene.
