Dr. Martens has always embraced the DIY spirit and is seen as a symbol of rebellion. Recently, the brand collaborated with Babylon, one of the representatives of subculture, to bring a pair of 1461 3-eye shoes with a double-layered upper that can be customized by hand.
This collaboration 1461 three-hole shoe features a double-layer upper, with a black Wanama leather bottom layer covered by a tearable olive canvas. Each shoe will wear, leave marks, and eventually be completely torn off, revealing a contrasting base color. The wearer can freely “destroy” and “tear” the upper to create a unique and changing appearance.
The tongue of these shoes features a removable tape badge, while the heel is adorned with a stitched badge, showcasing the logos of DM’s and Babylon. The external brushed silver zipper is adorned with the Babylon LA logo. The smoked DM’s air-cushioned sole showcases the CHAOS sole print and is secured with Dr. Martens’ iconic yellow welt stitching.
