Off-White collaborates with Victorinox to create the trendiest Swiss Army knife.

by

Although Virgil Abloh has left us, his influence has not diminished. Off-White, founded by him, has recently collaborated with Victorinox to launch a limited edition Swiss Army knife that combines fashion and functionality. Not only does it take its origin as a creative concept, but it also incorporates the imagery of Adam and Eve, hermaphroditism, and the origin of creation into the design of the knife. There are even new breakthroughs in materials!

The design of the blade represents the shape of ancient stone tools, which were used for cutting, drilling, peeling, and other tasks in prehistoric times. The rounded blade slightly protrudes from the main body of the pocket knife, giving this limited edition Swiss Army knife a unique appearance. When using the various tools on top, including a large knife, small knife, wood saw, drill bit, cork screw, key ring, wire stripper, bottle opener, screwdriver, and 6mm screwdriver and 3mm can opener arranged in the correct order, its silhouette resembles a fig leaf, symbolizing Adam and Eve, which is a clever reference to its origin.

There are also new breakthroughs in material, and the handle is made of Corian® Solid Surface for the first time. This is a solid, non-porous, and evenly textured panel material that combines resin and natural mineral alumina. The new material makes the scratch-resistant and durable handle surface feel, weight, and matte surface similar to real stone, resonating with the concept of origin.

In terms of color, of course, the iconic white color of Off-White cannot be missed, with a white handle surface paired with black prints. The front of the handle is printed with the Victorinox Cross & Shield logo and the brand’s traditional symbol, as well as the name and release year of this limited edition Swiss Army Knife. The back of the handle is printed with a series of patterns, telling the story of the evolution from stone to tool since ancient times.
