Punk Rock fans must have! Dr. Martens x The Clash showcases youthful rebellious attitude.

by

Formed in 1976, The Clash is one of the most important bands in British Punk Rock culture. The band’s bass guitarist, Paul Simonon, designed stage costumes for the members at the time: wearing a leather biker jacket, a sleeveless shirt or white shirt with suspenders, tight pants, and a pair of high Dr. Martens boots, creating a rebellious image. With the rise of Punk Rock culture, fans also eagerly imitated their unique style of dressing, while also establishing Dr. Martens as a symbol of youth, passion, and self-loyalty.

In 2022, The Clash and Dr. Martens meet again, collaborating to release a joint footwear collection. The MIE series, made in the UK, features shoes that are based on the ones worn by The Clash over 40 years ago, produced in the same factory using the same craftsmanship techniques.

The series features the classic 1460 8-eye boots and 1461 3-eye shoes, both made from the brand’s traditional Smooth leather, inspired by the original leather used in the Dr. Martens production line; the heels are embossed with The Clash’s iconic logo, and come with a set of tags worn by the band, as well as laces in colors from the “London Calling” album.
