Explore the art of the El Primero movement, ZENITH holds a limited-time exhibition Masters of Chronographs.

Earlier this month, ZENITH announced a major collaboration with the renowned watch experts Bacs & Russo and the top independent watchmaker Kari Voutilainen to create a craft-level timepiece, the Calibre 135-O Observatoire, based on ZENITH’s first astronomical watch movement, the Calibre 135-O. Two weeks later today, the brand brings another important announcement, revealing a limited exhibition titled “Master of Chronographs Since 1865” at the new headquarters on Park Avenue in New York, showcasing ZENITH’s watchmaking and movement art.

Masters of Chronographs Since 1865, as the name suggests, is an exhibition based on ZENITH’s proudest chronograph movements. This unique experience aims to pay tribute to ZENITH’s role in pioneering innovations in classic complex functions, showcasing how the brand has elevated watchmaking technology to an art form in unprecedented ways since its inception.

The exhibition made its debut at Watches and Wonders earlier, during which ZENITH will hold a series of educational activities, including a “watch clinic” hosted by master watchmakers, guided tours of historical timepieces, and an exclusive new product introduction hosted by Romain Marietta, Director of ZENITH’s Works and Heritage Department. The highlight of the exhibition, of course, is a series of masterpieces of movements made by ZENITH itself, including the world’s first integrated high-frequency automatic chronograph movement El Primero, which was introduced in 1969, and a series of timepieces of significant historical importance, leading visitors on an unforgettable journey through time.

This time, the exhibition is deliberately held at the Phillips New York headquarters on Park Ave, with the aim of showcasing the original art masterpieces of the multimedia artist Felipe Pantone, who has had a very close collaboration with the brand in recent years. During the exhibition, the exterior walls of the Park Ave headquarters will be adorned with a special piece inspired by Felipe Pantone’s work on the facade of the ZENITH watch factory building, all created from his stylistic concepts combined with a vibrant color spectrum reminiscent of pixel aesthetics, echoing ZENITH’s promotion of the combination of art, culture, and watchmaking.

ZENITH “Master of Chronographs Since 1865” limited-time exhibition will officially open to the public, welcoming local watch enthusiasts and guests to experience the world of watchmaking.
