In the fashion world, it is not uncommon to see women wearing men’s tailored clothing or men wearing dresses. In recent years, many fashion brands have been breaking gender boundaries through design, and the Saint Laurent 2022 Spring/Summer menswear collection is one example.
The Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2022 menswear collection incorporates elements of rock, goth, and the Victorian era into the fashion aesthetics of the 80s. Sensual retro colors, flowing textures, and silhouettes are the highlights of the Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2022 menswear collection, along with ruffled collars, lantern sleeves, pleats, as well as lace, sheer fabrics, open chests, and other designs that break gender boundaries, revealing a rebellious spirit and a dark romantic style.
This season’s designs are full of vibrant patterns and prints, including the TEDDY floral pattern jacket, the short-sleeved printed shirt with striped clouds, and the YVES collar printed shirt with ink patterns. There are also velvet embossed kimono-style sweaters, adorned with floral patterns and featuring a mandarin collar and two waist pockets.
As for the light blue denim short-sleeved jacket in this season’s collection, it exudes a vintage feel from the color tones to the design details. The denim jacket features a front button closure design, paired with a corduroy collar, chest flap pockets, creating a nostalgic atmosphere, while the multiple studs on the jacket add a punk rock vibe to the overall look. As for accessories, there are embroidered Le Rafia straw Crossbody bag, Rive Gauche printed canvas and leather large handbag, SL/61 leather low-top sneakers, and more.
The romantic style of Saint Laurent’s Spring/Summer 2022 menswear collection is eye-catching, and the brand has recently announced the creative director Anthony Vaccarello’s 2023 Spring/Summer fashion show plan. The SS23 fashion show will be held simultaneously with the exhibition “Love Affair With Morocco” by the founder. The exhibition, titled “Love,” will take place from June 5 to October 31 at the Duke’s Palace in Cadaval, Portugal, while the brand’s fashion show is scheduled for July 15, at a secret location in Marrakech to unveil the latest designs, definitely something to look forward to.
