Basically, NFT has now become a huge new force in many fields. Regardless of whether its value can be universally recognized, what cannot be denied is that the emergence of NFT is definitely a powerful strategy that can make noise or attract attention. In order to fully implement this strategy, a recent NFT project launched by Hyundai, a South Korean automaker, called “Hyundai X Meta Kongz NFT,” has attracted a lot of attention.

This approximately 55-second short film, as the name suggests, is related to “Kong”, so the short film is designed with the classic Hollywood movie “Kong” (King Kong), and mixed with the pixel graphics of the classic video game “Donkey Kong” as the opening. Then the camera quickly enters the game, becoming Meta Kongz existing in the Metaverse, and then a classic Hyundai Pony hatchback descends from the sky. Meta Kongz then gets on the car and travels through lunar orbit, finally landing on the moon and discovering a galaxy crystal in front of the car. The screen also reads “Shooting star NFT, dropping soon”, seemingly hinting at its connection to the NFT in the project.
It is interesting that in just 55 seconds of footage, apart from the opening “Kong” segment, the entire story also intersperses multiple scenes reminiscent of classic films, such as the epic “2001: A Space Odyssey” by the great director Stanley Kubrick in 1968, another blockbuster “E.T.” by the director Steven Spielberg in 1983, and even sci-fi scenes from “Tron,” “Back to the Future,” “Ready Player One,” all condensed into less than a minute of short film; although it may feel a bit confusing, at the very least you can predict that this project should have a rather “fantasia” feel.
However, what exactly is the “Hyundai x Meta Kongz NFT” launched by Hyundai this time? At the moment, only the car manufacturer knows. Moreover, it is unknown whether the newly established Twitter and Discord channels will become sales channels. In fact, Hyundai has already announced details on Twitter, with the first NFT officially unveiled recently, and the car manufacturer also announced that pre-sale and public sale will take place in May, with the entire NFT project continuing throughout the year.
