Germany has always been a gathering place for talent in technology and craftsmanship, and two legendary brands, RIMOWA and Porsche, both from this innovative land, have recently collaborated to present the RIMOWA x Porsche Pepita special edition carry-on suitcase, showcasing the unique intelligence and culture of German craftsmanship.
Inspired by the legendary Porsche 911 series, the special edition suitcase combines the classic design elements of the car manufacturer and RIMOWA, translating the unique aesthetic of this dream car into the visual language of aluminum-magnesium Pepita. In addition to paying tribute to the silver mirror finish of the first generation Porsche 911, Pepita also features finely polished shield-shaped fasteners securing black belts, echoing traditional hood fasteners, while the front of the suitcase also features the unique Porsche shield logo.
In terms of design, Pepita continues to use the iconic grooved aluminum-magnesium alloy shell of RIMOWA carry-on luggage, featuring a U-shaped zipper pocket and X-shaped fastening strap resembling a seatbelt to secure items inside the case. Adorned with Pepita houndstooth fabric, black leather details, Porsche shield logo print, and some details directly inspired by the original 911 masterpiece, such as the yellow indicator label from the Porsche 911 trunk, the carry-on luggage exudes the charm of the Porsche 911 model. Furthermore, the previously embedded wheels at the bottom of Pepita have been removed in this release, instantly improving portability.
Carrying the symbolic meaning of the beginning of the Porsche brand history, this special edition suitcase is limited to only 911 units worldwide, corresponding to the model’s number designation, with each one also bearing a limited edition number, making it an ideal collectible for collectors and design enthusiasts. At the same time, RIMOWA will also launch the RIMOWA x Porsche Pepita sticker set, with three vintage stickers available for individual purchase. The RIMOWA x Porsche Pepita carry-on suitcase and sticker set will be available starting April 21 at selected RIMOWA stores worldwide.
