Mercedes-AMG announces the launch of the G-Class model again! Another G-Class? Indeed, this year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the AMG brand, so the factory and brand will launch some new cars to celebrate this special moment, and the G-Class introduced this time is a special edition called Edition 55. Moreover, orders from car owners are now being accepted.
According to reports, in terms of design, the G63 Edition 55 that will be unveiled this time will offer two color options: Obsidian Black metallic or “G Manufaktur” milky white. It will also offer optional AMG Night Package and Night Package II accessories – both packages will feature a lot of dark tones. In addition, the Edition 55 will feature AMG special edition badges on the lower doors, and the metal fuel tank cap will bear the AMG brand logo; the wheels will be equipped with 22″ forged cross-spoke wheels, paired with a matte titanium gray wheel cover finish.
In terms of interior decoration, the modern and futuristic design of AMG is consistent with a sense of style. The space is mainly based on a combination of black and red colors, such as the AMG branded floor mats with black velvet and red stitching, stainless steel pedals with red lighting, and seats made of black and red Nappa leather. The steering wheel is made of Mercedes’ own ultra-fine fiber Dinamica material, with the inscription “55 AMG” below. If the owner chooses a black exterior, paired with the red details inside the cabin, it can be said that the grandeur of the G63 is elevated to another level. In light of this, buyers of the Edition 55 from AMG can also receive an exclusive car cover with the AMG brand (not a surprise, but it’s always useful at the right time).
As for the specifications, the power system has not undergone significant changes, still equipped with a 4.0L V8 Twin-turbo that can output 577 horsepower, 850 Nm of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. In terms of price, the Edition 55 in the German region is 17,850 euros higher than the regular G63.
