In the past few months, the aggressive Mercedes Benz, under its performance sub-brand AMG, has just announced new developments, once again related to the E-Power electric vehicle series. Last night, it was announced in the late hours that the car manufacturer will unveil the all-new Mercedes-AMG EQE on February 16 at 12:01 AM Central European Time, with a teaser video revealing some details of the new car.
From the brief teaser, it can be seen that this performance-oriented version of the EQS is equipped with the typical AMG styling, such as the Panamericana grille with vertical stripes exclusive to electric models, a small spoiler at the rear connecting to the rear deck, and the wheels adorned with Y-shaped spokes.
However, a series of leaked images have also been circulating online, showing that the new car will come with two five-spoke designs and a multi-spoke version, indicating that these designs may be options for the EQS appearance. In addition, the official press release mentions that the EQE, making its debut soon, will offer a future version with around 500kW, approximately 671 horsepower output. Based on this inference, the EQE AMG version that will be unveiled this time will be an upgraded version of the EQE 350. Furthermore, some car enthusiasts have mentioned that Mercedes applied for trademarks such as “EQE 43,” “EQE 53,” and “EQE 63” in 2020, which also explains that the EQE AMG will become a series that will produce multiple models.
Mercedes previously announced that the standard version of the EQE will not arrive in the US until the second half of 2022, so it is believed that the AMG version will not be widely available in different regions until the middle of next year at the earliest. Hong Kong car enthusiasts should take note.
