To accept Virgil Abloh’s sudden departure, I believe what everyone is most reluctant to part with is to welcome one after another of Virgil’s legacy works, and besides the recent Louis Vuitton men’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection, there is actually another work created by him personally that is about to be unveiled.
American producer Cardo (Cardo Got Wings) recently revealed that he was working on music with the late creative genius Virgil before his passing, and with his departure, Cardo is now moving forward with this project. Cardo shared on Twitter last Thursday that he is determined to complete the project or plan and promised to release it to all Virgil fans and music lovers. Cardo wrote: Virgil and I are working on a beat called “OFF THE RIP”… it will still happen. It’s necessary.
However, in the post, Cardo did not provide any detailed information or sources about “OFF THE RIP,” nor did he mention the exact time of release. In fact, in addition to being a fashion designer, Virgil’s identity as a musician has always been familiar to people; music, in a way, indirectly led Virgil into the fashion world.
Before his death, Virgil was dealing with extraordinary complex work, which had become widely known. Even though he had officially become an important figure in high-end fashion in recent years, he still found time to create music amidst his busy schedule, such as DJing at parties after fashion shows and launching a marathon music program during the pandemic. It is evident that Virgil’s passion for music is no less than his passion for fashion.
