Major brands have recently officially released their own Tiger Year capsule collections, and if we were to count the most daring attempt among them, we must mention the unique and interesting creations from BALENCIAGA.
BALENCIAGA’s Tiger Year series is officially available for sale at designated stores worldwide, the brand’s official website, and pop-up stores for a limited time. This series includes men’s and women’s ready-to-wear clothing, as well as children’s clothing, footwear, accessories, jewelry, and a variety of classic handbags, paying tribute to the upcoming Year of the Tiger. However, before unveiling a series of limited edition Tiger Year pieces, BALENCIAGA first released a Tiger Year campaign shot by photographer Chris Maggio, showcasing the brand’s eccentric style.
The series of advertising campaigns, arranged by Chris Maggio, features two models wearing the clothing from this series to create an optical illusion effect. From a certain angle, the audience may perceive them as the same person, but with strange body proportions, shapes, and compositions. Accompanied by a short film, the two individuals in the photographs gradually separate as the camera moves, revealing the visual mystery within.
As for the BALENCIAGA Tiger Year collection, the brand directly echoes the “Year of the Tiger” theme. The new BALENCIAGA logo is redesigned with a sporty inspiration, intertwined with bold tiger patterns, embellishing hoodies, T-shirts, shoulder bags, wallets, and hats. Classic styles such as sportswear, denim jackets, patchwork tops, knee-length sports pants, and asymmetrical dresses are reinterpreted with orange or taupe tiger stripes. Additionally, the Hourglass, Gossip, and Le Cagole handbags are available in tiger print or orange styles, as well as options with dual designs. The Sneakerhead handbag and Runner sneakers feature orange details, while the Master boots come with bright orange laces. The Mallorca sandals are made from artificial tiger skin. The Triple S sneakers and C-shaped padded jackets are in brown tones like deep beige and camel.
In addition, BALENCIAGA has set up a limited-time store for the Year of the Tiger series at K11 MUSEA, which will be open from now until January 18. Friends who are interested in seeing and getting it first should not miss it.
