Paul Smith collaborates with MINI for the second time to jointly create the sustainable development MINI Strip special edition car.

by

With the increasing environmental awareness of modern people, different sectors are focusing on researching sustainable development, applied in various aspects of life. Recently, Paul Smith and MINI once again joined forces to create the “MINI STRIP” special edition car with sustainable development as the main premise.

The design of the car is based on “simplicity, transparency, and sustainability”, thoroughly simplifying the structure of the three-door MINI COOPER SE, retaining only the necessary elements, and then revising, applying, and assembling them. For example, the outer layer of the car body deliberately skips the painting process, using only a thin, colorless coating to prevent rust, exposing the raw materials to the public; the familiar black skirt of the MINI is made from recycled plastic using 3D printing, while materials such as metal panels remain unchanged and unadorned. The aesthetically pleasing and practical front and rear skirts are also manufactured using 3D printing technology, bringing a striking texture.

The interior of the carriage is also full of creative ideas, with all decorative edges deliberately removed (except for the dashboard, sun visor pad, and rear parcel shelf), making the shell the main visual element of the carriage. In addition, Paul Smith explicitly states that the shell must be painted blue to create an overall bright and eye-catching effect.
