Renowned Creative Director Kim Jones, who has always loved collaborations, recently announced a major partnership, revealing that his Dior Men under his leadership will be teaming up with the Japanese brand sacai to launch a new special capsule collection for Spring 2022, featuring a total of 57 stylish pieces! What new creations will this “king of collaborations” deliver this time?
Kim Jones, who has collaborated with many artists and designers in the past, has brought in his friend and sacai founder Chitose Abe for this collaboration. They have combined Dior’s high-end structural tailoring with sacai’s fabrics and sporty elements, creating a collection that embodies both French fashion and Japanese outdoor style.
In this primarily blue and white-toned collaboration series, you can find designs that combine Dior suit silhouettes with sacai bomber jackets, Saddle series bags with nylon materials and drawstring designs, Dior Explorer boots with sacai silhouettes and bold layered designs, as well as items like fisherman hats, water bottles, etc., creating a stylish and casual outdoor look.
In addition to injecting a sporty style, it is not difficult to find denim fabrics that sacai often uses in a series of outerwear, trousers, hats, and other items, which not only adds a casual and relaxed feeling to the clothing, but also injects a young fashion gene into the Dior Men brand.
This special series reinterprets Dior’s Tailleur Oblique coat with sacai’s iconic fabrics, adding a patchwork style, practical pocket design, creating more layers, and embellished with rose floral patterns or sweaters with zipper designs, soft berets designed by Stephen Jones, all revealing fashionable details within a casual style.
The focus of this collaboration is also on the unique design of the logo. The word “sacai” is integrated into the “I” of the brand logo “DIOR”, marking the birth of this special series and becoming one of the design elements, echoing the recent trend of logos in the fashion world.
As for accessories, Dior’s iconic CD ICON chain necklace and bracelet in gold and silver tones of brass, paired with sacai’s pearl elements, the design is more fashionable and eye-catching.
