Although Rolex’s official Instagram account released the “no calendar” or commonly known as the “no date” Ref. 124060, this time Rolex’s new releases may actually be more interesting to everyone with a series of “with calendar” new models. As shared in the previous report, Rolex has introduced a total of four new Submariner models with calendars this year, including a steel case with black dial and green bezel, a steel and gold case with black dial and blue bezel, a yellow gold case with blue dial and blue bezel, and each of the above three models also comes in a version with a black dial and bezel, as well as a special version with a black dial and blue bezel made of white gold.
Just like the “No Calendar” new work, the new models of the “With Calendar” series are all paired with a 41mm diameter case, a power reserve of 70 hours, an accuracy of plus or minus 2 seconds per day. The only difference is the movement, the “With Calendar” series uniformly uses the 3235 movement previously equipped on the latest Datejust and Sea-Dweller models. Including Ref. 124060, Rolex once again popularized the “three-day chain” models in 2020, meaning that Rolex’s movement configuration standards have been redefined once again.
The steel shell black face green bezel with model Ref. 126610LV is believed to be the highlight of the new releases. Why? Bringing back the combination of black face and green bezel this year inevitably reminds many Rolex supporters of the “50th Anniversary” released by Rolex in 2003. However, compared to the two generations, this year’s new release has made several detailed changes. After the aluminum bezel of the “50th Anniversary” and the ceramic green bezel with green face introduced in 2010, after a gap of 10 years, Rolex has finally introduced the black face green bezel with steel shell and Cerachrom ceramic bezel, giving the feeling of being the final version of the green bezel family. With a price of HK$74,600, this black face green bezel may become one of the more sought-after styles among this batch of new releases.
Another special model is the blue bezel series introduced this time with the gold and platinum styles. First is the blue bezel black dial model with a gold shell, model Ref. 126619LB, which is quite similar to the green bezel mentioned above. After the previous generation Ref. 116619LB, the blue dial has finally been replaced with Rolex’s classic black dial, paired with the new 3235 movement, making it even more attractive in terms of functionality. Referring to the blue bezel style as special is due to Rolex simultaneously releasing the black dial blue bezel style with a platinum shell this time, undoubtedly making the black dial blue bezel even more prestigious with the blessing of precious metals.
Perhaps influenced by Pantone’s Color of the Year, Rolex has not only brought a white gold shell version to the blue circle series, but also simultaneously launched a steel version with a blue face and blue circle. The new Ref. 126613LB style, with a Rolyal Blue color scheme and gold lettering on the Cerachrom ceramic outer ring, echoes the dial design, combined with a three-link bracelet of yellow gold steel, giving this steel blue face and blue circle watch an extra touch of luxury. However, the most impressive one in this release must be the blue face and blue circle made of gold shell, with a full gold case paired with a glossy Royal Blue dial, perfect for watch enthusiasts who prefer a high-profile style.
Finally, of course, the price list section. According to the official Rolex display, the prices of the seven “with calendar” Submariner new models are as follows: for the steel category, the black dial with green bezel (126610LV) is priced at HK$74,600, and the black dial with black bezel (126610LN) is priced at HK$71,300; for the steel and gold category, the blue dial with blue bezel (126613LB) and black dial with black bezel (126613LN) are both priced at HK$111,500; for the gold category, the blue dial with blue bezel (126618LB) and black dial with black bezel (126618LN) are also priced at HK$288,400; for the white gold category, only the black dial with blue bezel (126619LB) style is priced at HK$309,600.
