British century-old car manufacturer Aston Martin has always been the exclusive vehicle for the secret agent 007. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the James Bond series, and Aston Martin has specially launched the ultimate version of its two flagship models, Vantage and Superleggera, with a movie tank-themed 007 Edition.
First, introduce the Vantage model. Limited to 100 units worldwide, this Vantage design is inspired by the classic V8 sports car that first appeared in the 1987 film “The Living Daylights” (James Bond: The Living Daylights). The entire body of the car is in Cumberland Grey matte carbon color, greatly enhancing its spy car style. The materials used by the factory for the new car are chrome-plated for decoration, with the front “grille” redesigned by the factory’s Q Bespoke department, featuring a brand new design different from the traditional grille pattern, while the interior is wrapped in Obsidian Black leather.
In line with the 007 Edition, the Vantage makes its appearance, Aston Martin will certainly not just change the body color of the sports car, replace other parts, or decorate the dashboard with commemorative plaques without sincerity. In this project, Aston Martin intentionally follows the movie plot, equipping the 007 Vantage with skis and a roof rack, while also adding the 96.6 radio spectrum that helped 007 escape the Russian police broadcast in “The Living Daylights” to the new car, giving the new car a unique 007 flavor.
As for the other 007 Edition, the Superleggera is even more precious in this project. With only 25 units globally, the 007 Superleggera features a matte carbon color Ceramic Grey, while the roof, side mirror covers, aerodynamic parts, and Aeroblade II rear wing are all replaced with carbon fiber styles, creating a layered effect with color differences. In terms of wheels, Aston Martin equips the new car with 21-inch wheels, with a spiral wheel design reminiscent of the classic bullet pattern from the opening of the 007 film series.
In the cabin area, Aston Martin is crafted with all-black leather, with red edges on the seats to highlight its lines, and the words “007” and special car badges are also visible in the cabin. Although the 007 Superleggera does not come with any special accessories, Aston Martin has intentionally tuned its sports car performance based on the tank used in the upcoming film “No Time To Die” scheduled for release this year: equipped with a 5.2L V12 engine, horsepower upgraded to 715, torque performance reaching 900Nm, however, Aston Martin has not provided any acceleration or top speed data.
In terms of pricing, the former 007 Vantage starts at £161,000 (approximately $1,639,083 HKD), while the limited edition 007 Supperleggera starts at £279,025, approximately $2,840,655 HKD. Aston Martin has also stated that they are currently accepting pre-orders, with the estimated arrival of the new cars in the first quarter of 2021. For all the 007 fans out there, if you’ve always wanted to own a James Bond car but found the DB5 to be out of reach, this opportunity is not to be missed.
