The open-air plaza at Ocean Terminal features a “Parade Performance” themed installation, including a 5-meter-tall giant Hello Kitty Daruma and 8 small Darumas in the “Apple Wishing Garden” main float. The “Hello Kitty Lion Dance Garden” is located at the Harbour Viewpoint, with a cute Hello Kitty stepping on a plum blossom pole, a lion dance head, and four large drums behind, creating a festive atmosphere for the Lunar New Year! Every year, Wan Chai’s Leighton Road is filled with the atmosphere of the Lunar New Year. This year, the theme is “Fortune Fish Lantern Sea, Golden Dragon Celebrates the New Year.” The 200-meter tree-lined avenue has been transformed into a lantern sea for the Lunar New Year, with lucky goldfish lanterns weaving through 800 lanterns, bringing good wishes of “abundance every year” with their sparkling golden light! In the atrium, there is also an 8-meter-long fortune-bringing golden dragon installation, symbolizing “continuous good luck!” In addition, Leighton Road will host various Lunar New Year activities, including four limited lion dance performances and workshops on February 10th and 11th (the first and second day of the Lunar New Year), as well as a “Lunar New Year Celebration Parade” cultural performance in the evening of February 12th (the third day of the Lunar New Year), where you can enjoy up-close performances by the world-class Spanish song and dance troupe Golden Dream and the German 8-person stilt walking team Universe of Lights. The 6 major photo spots include a peach-colored heart-shaped arch woven with sponge cotton fabric, a huge vase filled with cloud flowers, and a tree adorned with flowers and lucky charms, all exquisitely crafted and full of auspicious meanings! In addition, New Town Plaza also has traditional interactive games for the Lunar New Year, including “Lucky Fish Marble Game” and “Wishing Pavilion of Blessings”. Starting from today until February 14th, LOG-ON Lunar New Year Market will be available, where you can find trendy calligraphy decorations, Japanese New Year ornaments, stationery, and other great items! Enter the “Dragon Light Prayer Garden” to witness the blooming scenery of spring, with romantic flowers all around, allowing you to capture a beautiful moment from every angle. The auspicious dragon will also fly among the flowers from time to time. In addition, there is also the “Japanese-style Elegant Light and Shadow Tunnel” inspired by Kyoto’s “Yuzen Light Forest,” where colorful lights penetrate through the Japanese-style pillars, and when you look up, the shimmering Japanese lanterns create a happy and romantic atmosphere. The auspicious dragon, made of festive gold, silver, and red cords, stands tall and proud, with a dynamic and powerful posture. The cords also represent blessings, peace, and reunion in traditional culture. In addition to taking photos, visitors can also download designated AR filters on Instagram through their mobile phone cameras to interact with the auspicious dragon. They can also create their own creative Chinese New Year greeting cards to send blessings to their family and friends! Furthermore, they can challenge their friends to play the “Dragon Fortune” AR game and have a chance to win a phone strap during the first three days of the Lunar New Year!

Times Square in Causeway Bay collaborates with the award-winning female singer and my favorite female singer and textile expert, Chen Lei, to bring a Lunar New Year installation with the theme of “New Spring Blossoms”! The outdoor plaza features a tunnel of New Spring Blossoms, a variety of precious flower paths, and a towering “sound” flower drum to bring good luck and blessings to everyone. The Weaver’s World also showcases fashion items hand-woven by Chen Lei for this project for the first time! In addition, the second-floor atrium is adorned with woven flower stickers on the ground and a giant peach blossom tree, allowing visitors to capture the prosperity and luck of peach blossoms! “New Spring Blossoms” also hides a secret code for happiness. Just find and scan the hidden QR codes at various photo spots to unlock and receive Chen Lei’s six sweet blessings!

Lee Gardens is collaborating with renowned American floral artist Jess Phoenix for the first time this Lunar New Year, bringing the “Artistry In Bloom” installation to life. Inspired by four auspicious flowers – the butterfly orchid, peach blossom, lily, and peony – the installation is set up in the atrium of Hysan Place and the underground area of Lee Theatre Plaza. Blending Chinese and Western cultures, this immersive interactive gallery combines the language of flowers with art, wishing for a flourishing and blissful Year of the Dragon. The corridor of Hysan Place features the “Wishing Windmill Formation” with over 270 windmills, the “Kaleidoscope of Flowers” created by infinite reflections, and the “Floral Drums” themed installation. Additionally, the underground area of Lee Theatre Plaza features the large-scale photo spots “Butterfly Garden of Happiness” and “Whispers of Flowers,” creating a joyful and dreamy Chinese New Year experience.

This Chinese New Year, Pacific Place combines modern design with elegant Chinese garden elements. The installation inside the venue incorporates representative elements such as mortise and tenon joints, the curves of dragons, scale textures, and auspicious peach blossoms. Additionally, there are various types of preserved and silk flowers carefully created by Karen Leung, a floral artist from Forest By K Limited, as well as a floral art piece woven from over 10,000 bouquets. Not to be missed is a 3.5-meter tall peach blossom tree, perfect for taking photos! Furthermore, Starstreet Precinct is adorned with colorful lanterns, adding to the festive atmosphere!

The Taikoo City Center brings the “LIVE HAPPY BANK” themed event, with a “LIVE HAPPY BANK” bank entrance. After passing through the entrance, there are three lucky areas where you can unlock lucky codes through large-scale interactive installations, slide down a fortune slide in the shape of giant banknotes, and check-in inside a giant vault! The Eastwood City Mall has invited local eco-friendly paper artist Jennifer Hung to collaborate on a Chinese New Year-themed event called “Butterfly Dance ◦ Flower Viewing.” Drawing inspiration from the beauty of both Eastern and Western aesthetics and incorporating elements of sustainability, the event features a large-scale sustainable floral installation called “Vibrant Butterfly Garden.” Over a hundred lifelike sustainable paper flowers and fluttering butterflies are on display, including the “King of Flowers” peony, as well as orchids, daffodils, lilies, hyacinths, cherry blossoms, and hydrangeas, all symbolizing good luck and prosperity. It’s a vibrant and Instagram-worthy experience!

The ifc mall is inspired by the blooming flowers of early spring and presents the “Floral Fragrance” art installation for the Lunar New Year, allowing visitors to experience the flourishing and prosperous scene of blooming flowers through visual and olfactory senses. Standing in the center is a 6-meter tall eye-catching Lunar New Year flower, with pink peach blossoms hanging small greeting cards along the flower path, and a small flower cart filled with Lunar New Year flower bonsai beside it. The fragrance of the flower-shaped art installation is infused with the rich Night-Blooming Jasmine scent selected by Jo Malone London, releasing a delightful aroma as the petals unfold. Additionally, visitors can also enjoy the interactive butterfly installation and take photos at the Lunar New Year photo booth, perfect for Instagram!

The installation combines traditional culture and contemporary art, embracing the entire celebration and gathering good fortune. The pavilion is filled with vibrant flowers and lantern decorations, illuminating the path for the new year. Inside the venue, there are three interactive installations, including the “Rolling Calligraphy” experience, the “Fortune Drum” interactive game, and the Lucky Amulet Wishing Experience!

MOKO Shopping Mall in Mong Kok collaborates with IPX to bring “JOGUMAN Lunar New Year ‘Dragon Dragon’ Fun Park,” introducing the original character IP – JOGUMAN from Joguman Studio, which is beloved by the MZ generation in Korea, to Hong Kong for the first time. The characters include the green herbivorous dinosaur BRACHIO and his girlfriend DIPLO, as well as friends TRICERA and STEGO. The park features three major Lunar New Year photo spots, including a 4-meter-tall “JOGUMAN Spring ‘Dragon Dragon’ Giant Lucky Bag,” a “Dragon Dragon Lion Dance Team,” and a “Rolling Wealth Treasure Chest.” There is also an AR interactive photo area where visitors can scan the QR code on the on-site device to enter the Instagram filter page. By pointing their phone camera at the giant lucky bag installation, they can enjoy an animated effect of coins bursting out!

Another City collaborates with the trendy fashion brand FAT COFFEE WITH to launch “Congratulations Fat Wealth and Happy New Year”. The protagonist “Fat Boy” and his friends form the “Fat Boy Lion Dance Troupe”, decorating and arranging traditional New Year scenes, including an 18-meter-long giant dragon, large gold and red lion dance flags, and a lion dance team with the adorable Shiba Inu, Turboo. Dancing dragons and lions under the fluttering red flags, creating a festive and lively New Year atmosphere! On the other side is the first-ever revealed “Fat Boy’s Full House”, where “Fat Boy”, who is as important as daily caffeine to his friends, hangs photos at home, recording every stage of growth together with his friends from childhood to adulthood. The shopping mall, New Town Plaza, collaborates with the century-old dragon lion brand, Xia Guozhang Dragon Lion Troupe, and the social enterprise garment factory, Rui Cheng Production Cooperative, to create the “Hundred Fabric Dragon” installation. The auspicious dragon is 28 meters long and is first made by Xia Guozhang Dragon Lion Troupe using traditional handcrafted techniques. Then, a group of grassroots and ethnic minority women recruited by Rui Cheng Production Cooperative design and sew the dragon’s body using recycled fabrics as raw materials. This not only embodies the spirit of environmental protection but also symbolizes the blessings and integration of various households and families, combining exquisite traditional craftsmanship with modern design. New Town Plaza also invites 100 local and ethnic minority families from different cultures and backgrounds to write their wishes for the Year of the Dragon and hang them on the dragon’s body, conveying a message of inclusiveness.

Kiyo is dressed in a festive dragon costume for the Year of the Dragon, making its debut as the limited edition “Dragon Cat Kiyo” at the event, wishing everyone good luck in the new year! The Hong Kong local comedy channel, RTV, brought the entire team to YOHO MALL. “Big Brother” Ronald Cheng personally led the “Mobile Twelve Dinosaurs” to make an appearance! The collaboration between “Mobile Entertainment” and YOHO MALL brings a nearly 4.5-meter-high “Lucky Tiger Slot Machine,” a 4.5-meter-high “Dragon Luck Wishing Tree,” photo spots with “Xiangjie” and “Mama Step” dressed as dinosaurs, and a limited-time store called “My Only Store.” The store features a hidden photo spot with a 2.2-meter-high inflatable dinosaur store manager, as well as a “WEE~Twist Card Machine” with 12 different “Mobile Twelve Dinosaurs” WEE cards, and a variety of new merchandise!

Choi Yuen Plaza also has a 3-meter-tall inflatable Milk Dragon! During the event, there will be a variety of exclusive limited edition Milk Dragon merchandise available for Link Up members to redeem, including Lunar New Year couplets and lucky charms.
