Tsuen Wan 70,000 square feet Petrified Wood Park! Free admission to admire over 100 museum-grade petrified wood pieces.

If you want to experience the greenery and appreciate precious natural historical heritage, you can visit the “Rosary Hill Wood Fossil Park” located in Tsuen Wan. This newly opened park covers an area of about 70,000 square feet and is the largest urban park in Asia with a collection of wood fossils. It is divided into outdoor park and wood fossil experience hall, showcasing over 100 precious museum-grade wood fossils!

When trees do not rot due to a lack of oxygen in the buried environment and are permeated by underground water rich in minerals over a long period of time, the original wood fibers are gradually replaced by siliceous minerals, forming petrified wood. The rare petrified wood in the heart garden comes from West Java, Indonesia, and can be traced back to the Upper Miocene period, 2.6 to 5.3 million years ago, making it quite precious.

The longest “Sun Stone” in the Ruixin Garden is about 30 meters long, making it the seventh longest petrified wood in the world. The “Moon Stone,” which is about 25 meters long, is set against a volcanic path and is accompanied by special smoke devices, sound effects, and lighting effects in the evening, simulating the eruption of Mount Krakatoa in Indonesia! The garden also has a heart-shaped “Ruixin Stone,” a “Victory Stone” transformed from tree branches, an “Anniversary Stone” made up of tree trunks of various sizes, and a “Graduation Stone” adorned with metal ribbons. These unique shapes symbolize different milestones in life and carry special meanings.

In addition, there is a two-story fossil experience museum in the park that showcases fossil collections from around the world. There is also a multimedia performance at the Bell Square in the evening. There are guided tours, themed workshops, and various outdoor activities held in the open-air theater, providing a rich interactive experience.
