The most anticipated photo spot recently must be the giant rubber duck visiting Hong Kong again! This healing duck is now accompanied by its companions, swimming together in Victoria Harbour! AllRightsReserved, together with Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman’s “Double Happiness Rubber Duck,” will be open to the public starting from June 10th, expected to last for about two weeks. The 18-meter-tall rubber duck will be stationed on the sea surface of Victoria Harbour, adjacent to Tamar Park and the Central and Western District Promenade.
In addition, AllRightsReserved and Florentijn Hofman have also combined the authentic characteristics of Hong Kong with the rubber duck, launching a series of 24 “Rubber Duck Double Joy Hong Kong Special” designs. These include iconic landmarks such as the Clock Tower in Tsim Sha Tsui, the Space Museum, and Lan Kwai Fong, as well as local delicacies like dim sum, pineapple buns, and French toast. Among them, 18 designs will be displayed at 18 MTR stations starting from today.
The giant glass skylight at Exit E of Admiralty Station has transformed into a cute duck face, perfect for Instagram. Central, Hung Hom, Causeway Bay, Tsim Sha Tsui, Mong Kok, and Choi Hung stations also have the presence of these adorable ducks! Starting today, there will also be rubber duck-themed trams roaming the city. In addition to visiting the actual rubber duck and taking photos at the Victoria Harbour waterfront, don’t forget to keep an eye out when taking the tram!
In addition, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the giant rubber duck’s visit to Hong Kong, AllRightsReserved and Florentijn Hofman have specially launched a series of exclusive commemorative items featuring the rubber duck design and logo. These include a global limited edition of 300 bronze statue sculptures, handcrafted wooden sculptures, paired figurines made of vinyl, and hanging magnet plush toys. Some of the exquisite items also have authentic characteristics, such as the sparrow chip set and the ceramic 3-in-1 tea set decorated with traditional blue and white patterns with Hong Kong characteristics. Additionally, there are also adult and children’s limited edition T-shirts suitable for family fans.
The “Rubber Duck Double Happiness” series of commemorative products will be available for purchase on the DDT Store website starting at 11:00 am on June 5th. Customers can choose to have their ordered items delivered or pick them up at the exhibition venue.
