“Brother” Leslie Cheung has been gone for 20 years, and to commemorate this iconic star, the recent “Timeless Leslie Encounter” event was held at Ocean Terminal. Through the exhibition of cherished items, it shares the stories of 20 friends, colleagues, local and overseas fans who have “encountered” Leslie Cheung.
The exhibition includes the “Leslie Cup” trophy that Leslie Cheung once held with his friends, a signed record of his song “Day Dreamin'” borrowed from a local fan, and the bronze glitter used by him in the “Hot · Love Concert”.
The venue is equipped with a large television playing clips from 20 classic Leslie Cheung works and a giant mosaic made up of over 3,000 photos of “Meeting Brother”. There is also a neon light selfie wall made up of classic works, as well as an automated playing triangle piano, playing a loop of 8 classic hits including “Chase”, “The Wind Continues to Blow”, and “Getting Through Together”.
In addition, there will be free “guided tours” held on weekends, allowing “Leslie Cheung fans” to browse through rare publications and collectibles. On March 31st, a sharing session will also be held, inviting Leslie Cheung’s close friend and renowned designer Patrick Chan, former backup dancer Chris Choi, as well as local and overseas veteran fans of music and film, to share their stories and experiences of working with and meeting Leslie Cheung.
