Architect Kengo Kuma leads the way, Snow Peak Campsite opens! A new mountain travel experience for camping in front of the snowy mountains.

Due to the impact of the epidemic, everyone has temporarily bid farewell to Japan for half a year. Every moment, every minute, and every second, they are thinking about where to go shopping on their next trip to Japan. Which Michelin-starred restaurant to eat at? Which hot spring hotel to stay in? Instead of going to popular tourist spots that everyone wants to check in at, why not have a niche mountain travel experience!

Japanese outdoor gear brand Snow Peak, beloved by trendsetters, recently opened its first themed comprehensive travel facility “Snow Peak Land Station Hakuba” in Hakuba Village, Nagano Prefecture, a popular summer destination for the Japanese.

The facility is designed by Kengo Kuma, with the main building inspired by the Northern Alps, using wood to create a roof with mountainous lines that harmonize with the surrounding natural forest environment. Behind the main building is the snow-covered Northern Alps, 3 kilometers high, offering an unforgettable alternative mountain range travel experience in such a beautiful setting!

The most popular feature of the entire facility is, of course, the campsite that is fully equipped with Snow Peak products. In addition, you can set up your own tent in designated areas, or rent equipment from the site to set up yourself, offering multiple accommodation options for different travelers. If you don’t have camping equipment with you and don’t want to camp outdoors, you can rent a small cabin in the park. The independent cabins are designed by Kengo Kuma, and are filled with Snow Peak products and equipment, allowing you to experience a luxurious mountain trip even without any preparation.

Snow Peak Land Station Hakuba also has the largest Snow Peak store in Japan, with a wide range of brands, exclusive limited edition products, local specialties, and sake from Hakuba Village. Additionally, there is a restaurant supervised by Michelin three-star chef Hideki Ishikawa, allowing travelers to enjoy excellent flavors made with local seasonal ingredients in a natural environment!

For your next trip to Japan, why not have a unique mountain experience, using the power of nature to heal your body and mind from the fatigue of the pandemic!
