IKEA and Finnish design brand Marimekko have teamed up to launch the limited edition BASTUA collection, incorporating nature and Nordic sauna culture into home decor!
The series name “BASTUA” in Swedish means “sauna”, and within this cross-brand design there are 4 new pattern prints designed by Marimekko. Inspired by elements such as large yellow plants, wood, sunlight, and lake ripples next to the sauna, the design is natural and casual, both healing and filled with warm summer vitality.
Multiple home products include the GUBBA, which can be individually erected or stacked into a high stool, a stainless steel water bottle with floral patterns, and a shower curtain adorned with large yellow leaves. The BASTUA cupped scented candle emits a subtle fragrance of elderflower, rhubarb, and vanilla, creating a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere in the space.
In addition, there are glass tableware inspired by the lakeside outside the sauna, with irregular lines that are both soft and pure, with a touch of handmade style. Wooden furniture is also another element in creating a Nordic style. In the BASTUA series, you can also find solid birch wood coat racks, benches, and corner tables, adding a simple and healing feeling to the corners of your home.
