by

In addition to many brands launching extravagant mooncake gift boxes, many hotels have also come up with new creations, focusing on crossover new flavors! If you are tired of traditional flavors and want to try something new, you might want to check out the following recommendations!

//Harbour Hotel x Two Moons//

If you like felt wine, consider the “Harbour Grand Mooncake Gift Box” (HK$688 / 4 pieces with two mini felt wines)! Harbour Grand Hotel collaborates with local felt wine brand Two Moons for the first time to launch mooncakes, including felt wine custard mooncake and egg yolk dried tangerine red bean mooncake. Produced by the hotel’s Chinese restaurant, Golden Leaf Court, the former uses Four Seasons tangerine felt wine, with a light wine aroma that is not overly sweet.

The gift box includes two bottles of Two Moons fine felt wine, which can be enjoyed with mooncakes, either on its own or used to make cocktails. The gift box also features authentic Northern Wei calligraphy by local calligrapher Yang Jia, giving it a very “made in HK” feel, making it a valuable gift for others or for oneself.

//Kowloon Shangri-La x Hsinchu Fuyuan, Taiwan//

The Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel’s Xiang Palace has invited Taiwan’s Hsinchu Fuyuan, with a 70-year history, to make mooncakes using its peanut butter and sesame paste (HK$458/8 pieces)! The sauces are made using traditional methods, and both flavors are rich and delicate. The peanut butter mooncake even has a grainy texture, so don’t miss it if you like a “strong flavor”!
